Tonight’s end credit song was “This Land is Your Land” by Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings
I put this song in our cut about 3 months ago and I really loved the placement.
Then, I went to some screening of the movie “Up in The Air” and freaked out because one of the biggest movies of the year had my song as their main title opening.
Believe me, I don’t think they stole my idea, I was just horrified that everyone would think I was stealing theirs since the movie was coming out before we aired.
I told the producers we should change it. But, in this biz there is something called “Temp Love.” It’s when you see something in the first cut that may be a placeholder for something better but once they see it and like it, there is no changing anyones mind. They can’t see it any other way. Everyone loved it. I loved it too. I still love it but I just wish it wasn’t used before us, so recently.
Here is the one I was beggin them to let me use. What do you think?

i have been a huge fan of Entourage for years and now a new LOVING fan of How to Make it in America.My bestfriend told me about your blog and how much she loved it and how she’d thought i would as well. I had no idea who you were, or that you did the soundtrack for both of my all time favorite T.V. shows. Although i love scarface- my block, you had it right the first time with sharon jones and the dap kings! PLEEASEE don’t let this de-rail you and keep doing what you’re doing because you’re damn good at it.
